Medical records can be very complex, convoluted, and lengthy. Our medical consultants will review the lengthy medical records and the applicable standards of care for you. Furthermore, our network of expert bedside nurses and legal nurse consultants can frequently do all of this for you at a fraction of the cost of a medical doctor. If we determine that your case should merit additional expert analysis by a medical doctor, without hesitation we will locate an experienced and renowned practitioner in the field for you. We can:    

• Review relevant medical records by knowing precisely where and what to look for
• Summarize, translate, and impartially interpret the record
• Figure out what is missing and which documents to request
• Organize, tab, paginate, or bates stamp medical records upon request
• Prepare chronologies of the medical events involved in the case if needed 
• Identify subtle aspects of the documentation that are inconsistent and identify errors or inaccuracies in documentation
• Identify relevant standards of care, hospital policy, and deviations thereof
• Help you to establish duty, breach of duty, causation, and damages
• Identify possible contributory factors
• Identify tampering with medical records

Your client has the right to an observer being present when submitting to a physical or mental examination. We can help by coordinating, attending, and reporting on medical examinations, ensuring the integrity of the process and your client. As your representative attending the exam, we take notes, observe, and audio record when permitted. We will help prepare the client before the exam regarding the process and can help prevent the answering of excluded questioning or circumstantial questions that are not medically necessary. We will strive to locate a legal nurse consultant within your client's geographic area for this process in order to minimize costs.  

If you are in need of an expert witness outside of our scope of practice or expertise, usually for a small fee we can locate doctors, nurses, and other allied health professionals with outstanding credentials for you. We will contact them, perform a preliminary screening on your behalf, and provide you with the resume or CV of experts likely to be a good fit for your case. We can also locate experts in the areas of life care planning, billing, and Medicare set-asides.  

We can help you prepare for interrogatories, deposition, trial, or alternative dispute resolution (ADR) by formulating the specific clinical questions that need to be asked. We can also review transcripts of depositions and interrogatory responses in order to help you identify any inconsistencies between the testimony and the medical record.    

We will develop written reports for your reference and use at trial upon request. We will also perform relevant literature research, analysis, and present a summary for you when needed. Fact-based research can strongly support a claim or weaken an opponent.    

Upon request we can interview clients, key witnesses, current healthcare providers, and experts with you or on your behalf. As nurses, and industry insiders, we are uniquely skilled at understanding and explaining medical terminology while putting people at ease. We can utilize our bedside manner to serve as a liaison between you and the patient or other healthcare personnel as needed.
